BOX 1810 E. Hazelton Ave.
Stockton, CA 95201-3018
SUBJECT: Comments on Remediation Plan for methane gas release at Harney Lane Landfill,
(SWIS# 39-AA-0003).
The remediation plan does not adequately address the following concerns:
1. The plan needs a detailed evaluation of the gas extraction system including well spacing,
size of header line, size of blowers and any other factor that you might think effects the
overall operation of the system.
2. The plan does not explain what action will be taken if gas concentrations remain above the
regulatory limit.
3. The plan does not explain how often will the LFG header line be monitored to identified
and removed low spots that will lead to line blockages, and what ongoing action will be
taken to ensure the maintenance and fimctioning of the LFG header.
If you have any questions, please contact Ted Tasiopoulos R.E.H.S. at(209) 953-7698.
Robert McClellon, Supervisor R.E.H.S.
Environmental Health Department
CC: Gino Yekta, CIWMB,MS-20
