Geomatrix Consultants
October 14,2003
t Page 5
is unknown. The three largest zones of buried metal are located near 270E/35N,380E/190N, and
100.E/180N(Plate 2).
LIMITATIONS
' a In general, there are.limitations unique to each geophysical method employed for this investigation.
For a xample,u tilities in ay b e b uried d eeper t ban t he d etection c apabilities o f t he g eophysical
method. There may be a lack of contrast in physical properties between native soils and buried
objects. Above or below ground cultural features, such as vehicles, fences, and debris, may cause
interference that limits or masks the detection of a nearby utility. Since the accuracy of our findings
is subject to these limitations,it should be noted that not all utilities and buried objects or features
'. may have been detected or characterized by the geophysical techniques used for this investigation.
Additional discussion of the limitations with regard to each of the geophysical methods employed
' for this investigation are included in Appendix A.
i '
Other general limitations at the site include the extensive debris and brush cover within the proposed
' investigation area. There is a significant portion of the property that was not surveyed for buried
s utilities due to limited access and instrument interference. Care should be exercised in excavating
specific targets identified by thegeophysical investigation.
1 ` STANDARD CARE AND WARRANTY
i..
The scope of NORCAUs services for this project consisted of using geophysical techniques to
explore the subsurface. The accuracy of our findings is subject to specific site conditions and
g limitations inherent to the techniques used. We performed our services in a nmanner consistent with
the standard, ofeare ordinarily exercised by members of the profession currently employing similar
techniques. No warranty, with respect to the performance of services or products delivered under this
agreement, expressed or implied, is made by NORCAL.
' L We appreciate having the opportunity to provide you with our geophysical services.
h
4 Respectfully,
NORCAL Geophysical Consultants,Inc.
Dan P.Jones
Geophysicist,GP-1042
fi`.
h.:
1
