The casing for each well consists of 2 inch
diameter, flush threaded Schedule 40 PVC. The following table lists the
mechanical details for each new well.
Well I.D. Boring Depth of Depth of Filter Transition Annular
Depth Blank Screen pack Seal Seal
MW-6 20.0' 0-5' 5' - TD 4' - TD 3-4' 0-3'
MW-7 20.0' 0-5' 5' - TD 4' - TD 3-4' 0-3'
TD=Total Depth; All numbers are depths below grade.
Traffic rated well boxes were constructed around each of the four wells.
Schedule 40 PVC screen with 0.020 inch slots was used to case the screened
interval of each well.
After the four monitoring wells had been constructed, they were surveyed by
' a licensed land surveyor to ±0.01 foot accuracy in the vertical dimension and
±0.1 foot accuracy in the lateral dimensions. The wells were surveyed
relative to a nearby benchmark and tied into the southwest corner of the
shop building. The survey also tied into at least one of the previously
existing wells to assure accuracy.
2.2.2 Monitoring Well Development
After the grout had set-up for more than 48 hours, each well was developed
using a surface suction pump. This work was completed on March 19, 2000.
The wells were pumped at a steady rate until a clear stream of water was
obtained. Approximately 20 to 30 gallons were produced from each well. All
development water was containerized in appropriate containers on-site
pending completion of sample analysis determination of the proper disposal
method.
2.2.3 Groundwater Sampling Method
Groundwater was sampled on two occasions during the completion of this
scope of work, on January 26, 2000, from the Geo-Probe borings and on
March 29, 2000 from monitoring wells MW-1,2,3,4,6 & 7. The following
section describes the methods by which groundwater samples were collected.
2937 Veneman Avenue, Suite B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
