GEO-PHASE <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL <br /> Work Plan <br /> Groundwater Monitoring Well Abandonment <br /> Former Karlson Trucking Facility <br /> 9909 East Woodward Avenue <br /> Manteca, CA 95366 <br /> July 2, 2002 <br /> Project No. 191.2 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Since 1998, the subject site has been the target of a remedial investigation of <br /> an unauthorized release of diesel fuel from aboveground storage tanks. On <br /> June 13, 2002, the California Regional Water Quality Control Board issued a <br /> conditional closure letter of the site. The document requires the proper <br /> abandonment of the six remaining groundwater wells. <br /> The following section describes the work that will be completed to abandon <br /> the wells in accordance with regulatory requirements. <br /> 2.0 WELL ABANDONMENT <br /> The following sub-sections describe the work to be completed to properly <br /> abandon the six groundwater monitoring wells. <br /> 2.1 Preparatory Work <br /> A permit to abandon the wells will be obtained from the San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Service — Environmental Heath Division (PHS-EHD). <br /> Traffic-rated well boxes protect the wells.
