GEO-PHASE
ENVIRONMENTAL
Work Plan
Site Characterization II
Former Karlson Trucking Facility
9909 East Woodward Avenue
Manteca, California
December 6, 1999
Project No. 191.2
1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction
The site is located southeast of the city of Manteca, CA (See Figure 1), at
9909 East Woodward Avenue formerly used as a commercial trucking facility.
During the course of a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, several
environmental conditions were identified which were deemed to require
further investigation by completing soil and/or groundwater sampling. These
areas included:
• A suspected former underground storage tank location between a pole
barn and main repair building at the site.
• A former retention pond which stored water sourced from a former truck
wash.
Geo-Phase Environmental Inc. subsequently installed a group of 7 Geo-Probe
soil borings into groundwater to approximately 15 feet below grade.
Groundwater was encountered at 11 feet below grade. These borings
included the following:
• Three near a possible underground storage tank location between the pole
barn and main repair building
• One adjacent to the outfall near a pit used to dispose of water from a truck
washing rack.
2937 Veneman Avenue, Suite B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
