(AGE) on behalf of Mr. Sheldon Heckman for the former Connell Motor Truck
Sales at 2211 North Wilson Way in Stockton(site). Previous assessments found contamination present
in soil and groundwater at the site, primarily adjacent to the truck lift building. Contaminants of concern
are total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel, gasoline, motor oil, and Stoddard solvent (TPHd, TPHg,
TPHmo, and TPHss, respectively), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (collectively BTEX),
and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The objective of the work plan is to further assess the extent
of contamination present at the site.
The work plan proposes to advance three soil borings using cone penetrometer testing(CPT) technology.
and install six monitoring wells using a hollow stem auger drill rig. The CPT borings will be advanced
to approximately 100 feet below ground surface (bgs)to determine soil characteristics and extent of soil
contamination. Four of the wells will be shallow and two will be deep. The work plan proposes to
collect soil samples at lithologic changes. AGE will install the wells using two-inch diameter schedule
40 PVC casing and 20-foot, 0.02-inch slotted PVC well screens, spanning between 40 and 60 feet bgs in
the shallow wells and 80 and 100 feet bgs in the deep wells. Following completion, AGE will develop
and sample each well. Soil and groundwater samples will be analyzed for TPHd, TPHmo, TPHss, and
VOCs.
I have the following comments on the work plan:
1. The work plan describes the site as consisting of three parcels with various lessees, and the site
map shows three different locations for the site. However, the work plan states that this
investigation addresses only one parcel (APN No. 117-150-031). AGE needs to identify the
parcel addressed by this investigation in Figure 1 and clarify the relationship with the other
parcels noted in the text.
California Environmental Protection Agency
co Recycled Paper
