The Report was submitted by Golden
State Environmental, Incorporated (GSE) to DTSC on behalf of the City of Stockton.
Enclosed is a copy of DTSC's Human and Ecological Risk Division (HERD) memo•
containing comments on the risk assessment provided in the Report. Based upon HERD's
comments, it is recommended that additional soil sampling is necessary to identify whether
elevated Arsenic and Lead levels observed in isolated sample locations are localized.
Please provide this office with a figure showing the locations of additional soil samples and
a proposed date in advance of any additional site soil sampling field work. All sampling
should be conducted in accordance with the previously submitted soil sampling work plan.
DTSC also has been in verbal contact with Mr. Rob Traylor Of GSE regarding proposed
active soil gas sampling proposed for the site and areas adjacent to the site. DTSC has
reviewed and provided a conditional approval of the Active Soil Gas Survey by electronic
mail to Mr. Traylor. DTSC requests an advance notice prior any collecting the proposed
active soil gas samples.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (916) 255-3744 or by electronic mail at
Sincerely,
Jerry Life
Project Manager
Enclosure
