July 10, 2008 <br />MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION WORKPLAN <br />CITY OF MANTECA <br />VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK <br />MANTECA, CALIFORNIA <br />OUR PROJECT NUMBER: LES080548 <br />1.0 GENERAL INFORMATION <br />1.1 Purpose <br />The purpose of this workplan is to provide a description and details for installation of one <br />temporary groundwater monitoring well at the Facility. Specifically, this work plan provides the <br />methodologies for the design and construction of this temporary groundwater monitoring well. <br />1.2 Site Description <br />The facility is a portion of Assessor's Parcel Number 241-31-048. The City of Manteca owns <br />approximately 13.5 acres of land located at the northeast quadrant of West Daniels Street and <br />Milo Candini Drive ("Site"). Approximately 2.3 acres of the site is planned for a storm water <br />retention basin. The basin will be developed into a Veterans Park for appropriate military <br />service recognition and passive recreational purposes. The location of this facility is depicted <br />graphically on the Vicinity Map (see Plate 1). The property is currently vacant. <br />1.3 Physical Setting <br />1.3.1 Site Topography <br />The site topographic map depicts the site elevation range to be between 20 and 25 feet above <br />mean sea level. All surface water bodies, proximal roads, and general area of the existing <br />subject facility are also presented on the Topographic Map (see Plate 2). <br />1.4 Local Geologic and Hydrogeologic Conditions <br />1.4.1 Regional Geology <br />The subject property is located in the Great Valley Geomorphic Province. The Great Valley <br />Province is an elongated northwest-southwest trending Asymmetric Geosyncline (structural <br />trough). This region persisted as a lowland or shallow marine embayment during the entire <br />Cenozoic Era and late Mesozoic Era.
