Health and Safety Plan, Subsurface Investigation
Potential New Court Site, Stockton, California
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This Health and Safety Plan (HASP) (including Attachments A) for the Subsurface Investigation of the
proposed Potential New Court Site property in Stockton, California provides a general description of the
levels of personal protection and safe operating guidelines expected of each employee or subcontractor
associated with the environmental services being conducted at the work site. Work will be performed in
This HASP also identifies chemical and physical hazards known to be associated with the Earth Tech-
managed activities addressed in this document.
HASP Supplements will be generated as necessary to address any additional activities or changes in site
conditions, which may occur during field operations. Once generated, each Supplement will be inserted
in Attachment A and reviewed/acknowledged by field personnel prior to the start of applicable work
activities..
The provisions of this Health and Safety Plan (HASP) are mandatory for all Earth Tech personnel
involved in the subsurface investigation of the proposed Potential New Court Site property in Stockton,
California. This HASP also serves to specify the minimum acceptable health and safety-related
performance requirements for any Earth Tech subcontractor organizations, and notification of the
chemical and physical hazards known to be associated with the Earth Tech-managed activities addressed
in this document.
Changes to this HASP that could affect the health or safety of personnel, the community, or the
environment will not be made without prior approval of the Earth Tech Project Manager, and the
assigned Earth Tech Safety, Health & Environmental Professional (SH&EP). In the event of a conflict
between this HASP and federal, state, or local regulations, the most stringent will apply.
1.1 Health and Safety Policy Statement
It is the policy of Earth Tech to provide a safe and healthful work environment for all its employees.
Earth Tech considers no phase of operations or administration to be of greater importance than injury and
illness prevention. Safety takes precedence over expediency or shortcuts. At Earth Tech, we believe
every accident and every injury is avoidable. We will take every reasonable step to reduce the possibility
of injury, illness, or accident.
Project 104290.19.01 1 January 2009
