Health and Safety Plan, Subsurface Investigation <br />Potential New Court Site, Stockton, California <br />Skin Contact - Contact with contaminated materials is likely during drilling and handling/collecting <br />environmental samples. However, protection against skin contact can be accomplished through the use <br />of protective gloves/clothing (see SH&E 301). <br />Ingestion - Contact with contaminated materials is likely during drilling and handling/collecting <br />environmental samples. However, protection against exposure via ingestion can be accomplished by <br />performance of proper decontamination procedures when exiting contaminated work areas (see <br />SH&E 604). <br /> <br />6.0 ACTIVITY-SPECIFIC HEALTH AND SAFETY PROCEDURES <br />The following Earth Tech Environmental Practice Standards are applicable to specific work tasks, as <br />specified in the THAs in Attachment A, and must be followed at all times while performing the specific <br />task: <br />SH&E 404 — Manual Hand Tools <br />SH&E 405 — Handling of Drums and Large Containers <br />SH&E 403 — Drilling <br />SH&E 517 — Traffic Safety <br />Copies of these procedures may be found in Attachment B. <br /> <br />6.1 Slips, Trips, Falls, and Protruding Objects <br />Hazards from protruding objects, careless movements, or placement of materials on paths or foot traffic <br />areas present a problem with regard to slips, trips, falls, and puncture wounds.
