Addendum
DATED: May 15, 2002
PREPARED BY: AGE
APPROVED: x]
DISAPPROVED:
ADDENDUM NEEDED: [ Submit by:
ADEQUATE AND NECESSARY ELEMENTS OF THE WORK PLAN [H&S 25299.37,subd(c)(3)]:
To define the vertical and lateral extent of groundwater contamination, 5 off site CPTs will be
completed to 150 feet bgs.
Four groundwater grab samples will be collected for analyses from four hydrologic units from each
boring.
Groundwater samples will be analyzed for: TPH-gas, BTEX, and fuel oxygenates including MTBE.
COMMENTS AND CONDITIONS:
Six CPT locations were proposed in the W.P. EHD approves five. The western most CPT proposed
on the north side of Waterloo Road should be eliminated.
The proposed CPT location on Chronicle Avenue needs to be moved approximately 100 feet north
closer to the site.
Vertical groundwater definition near the contaminant source (MW#2) must be completed.
A sensitive receptor survey with a 2000 foot radius of the site must be completed and submitted to
EHD. Be advised, California Water Service wells STA#15 and STA#75 maybe within 2000 feet of
this site.
All cost must be preapproved by the Cleanup Fund prior to implementation of this work.
Interim groundwater remediation in the area of MW#2 needs to be performed. Groundwater pump and
treat to remove contaminant mass and aid in controlling plume migration can be done concurrently
with the on site and off site investigation.
All required EHD permits must be procured prior to drilling.
Tr-Regional Board Staff Recommendations For Preliminary Evaluation and Investigation of
Underground Tank Sites" along with its "Appendix A" and "Appendix B" should be used as guidance
documents. All work and reports which require geological or engineering evaluation must be
performed under the direction of an appropriate California registered or certified professional.
DATED
BY kik•A-6-te
Harlin Knoll, Senior REHS (209) 468-3442
cc: AGE
