INFORMATION SHEET <br />ORDER NO. 5-00-226 <br />COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />COUNTY SERVICE AREA NO. 44 <br />CASTELLO ESTATES AKA APRICOT ACRES <br />SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br />The County of San Joaquin Department of Public Works (SJDPW) will own and operate a <br />domestic wastewater treatment system to be constructed at Castello Estates aka Apricot Acres. <br />The site is located in San Joaquin County approximately three miles south of Tracy. The <br />SJDPW refers to the area served as County Service Area No. 44. The wastewater treatment plant <br />will be constructed as part of a residential development in the area. <br />The wastewater plant consists of a 30,000 gallon per day complete mix, nitrification/ <br />denitification, modified batch process. Disinfection will be accomplished using ozone injection. <br />Treated wastewater will be discharged to computer controlled subsurface emitters. The package <br />plant units consist of a 20 feet deep influent pump station (wet well), three 4,000-gallon <br />equalization tanks, an aeration chamber, a clarifier chamber (which will return activated sludge <br />to the aeration chamber), an ozone disinfection chamber, two sand filters (which will backflush <br />to the equalization system), and the subsurface emitters. Waste sludge will be aerobically <br />digested in two above ground aerated tanks. Groundwater exists at approximately 65 feet bgs. <br />This Order requires the Discharger to perform monitoring of the effluent and groundwater. <br />TRO 10/27/00
