Excluding the highlighted areas on the enclosed map, there are
approximately 200 plus lots supplied by private wells. My best estimate is that the majority of
private wells are drawing from the impacted water aquifers.
The subdivision developer has proposed the installation of a package sewage treatment plant for
the subdivision utilizing Geo-Flow drip irrigation in landscaping for effluent discharge. A waste
discharge application to your agency is pending. I believe that a package treatment system under
a County Service Area and Regional Water Quality Control Board waste discharge requirements
would be the best mitigation for these developments.
Your review of the Nitrate Loading Study as it relates to the proposed development, as well as
the regional impactsi would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please call me at
(209) 468-3437.
Sincerely,
77 /0/ emi
Mike Huggins, Supervising R.E.H.S., R.D.I.
Environmental Health Division
MH:cf
Enclosures
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
