Soil Analysis
Soil samples will be extracted from the bottom and sides of the excavation at a rate of one sample for
each 100 square feet of exposed surface. Soil samples will be transported under ice in standard BX
sample tubes designed for the use. Each sample tube will be capped with aluminum foil or Teflon sheet
and sealed with duct tape. Samples will be transported under ice to an approved state certified
laboratory for analysis. Samples will be analyzed by EPA methods 8020 (BETX), and 5030/LUFT
(TPHgasoline) & 3550/LUFT (TPHdiesel). Stockpiled soil may be subject to addition analysis as
required by the PHS-EHD and Foothill Engineering.
Recommended Action Levels
Excavation will continue until exposed soil yield analysis results of less than 100 mg/Kg for method
5030 & 3550/LUFT.
Excavation Backfill
Excavation will be backfilled to original grade with suitable, non-contaminated fill material.
Schedule
The excavation will require two days to complete and the anticipated start will occur on or
about December 1, 1998. Hauling of soil will be completed by February 15,1999. All work will
be completed by March 1, 1999.
Please consider this proposed work plan at the earliest opportunity. If any questions arise, please contact
this office @ (209)368-9381.
Respectfully submitted,
