Wilson Way Stockton, CA 95205
Site code: 39-1304
Dear Mr. Infutna,
Foothill Engineering has been retained by Connell Motors as the Civil Engineer in charge to supervise
the closure of the above stated UST site.
HISTORY OF UST REMOVAL
On June 11. 1998, the three UST on this site were removed by Jim Thorpe Oil, Inc. of Lodi. California
under PHSrEFID permit and oversight. As per the work plan for the removal, soil samples were
extracted and analyzed for BTEx. TPHgas, TPI-Idieset, and Oxygenates (see summary of results
attached). The analysis indicated the soil under and near the dispensers was contaminated with both
Gasoline and Diesel. The soil under and surrounding the three t 1ST's was analyzed as non-detect for
all analytes. The tank excavation was backfilled with onsite pea gravel.
SITE CLOSURE WORK PLAN
Excavation
This work plan proposes to excavate all of the contaminated soil from th.e area of the dispensers and
the product piping. The analysis of the soil samples extracted in the area of the dispensers indicates that
the fuel spills were limited in quantity and frequency. The filel contamination is concentrated near the
surface and diminishes as depth increases. The deepest soil sample, extracted at seven feet, is much less
contaminated than the average of the samples at higher elevations. It is estimated size of the required
excavation area is +/-20' X 30' to a depth of-/-8', with a volume of +1- 200 cubic yards.
Spoil Disposal
Spoil from the excavation will be stockpiled on site (see site map) until removed to a regulated. landfill
or reclaimed for use on site. The determination of the final disposal of the excavation spoil will be
made after all soil samples are analyzed and test results are complete. Depending on the test results,
the spoil will either be remediated onsite from the stockpile or will be disposed of at Forward, Inc in
S tockton, California.
