(AGE). The Workplan scope of work was
also reviewed for permitting and was approved by San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department (SJCEHD) in an email to AGE and Regional Board staff on
29 January 2013.
The Workplan proposed destruction of forty eight (48) monitoring wells, thirty four
(34) soil vapor extraction remediation wells, fourteen (14) air sparge wells and one
(1) groundwater extraction well. Pressure grouting will be used to destroy MW-4,
MW-10 through MW-14, MW-21, and MW-29. The remaining wells are located in areas
of known contamination, and the SJCEHD required those wells to be destroyed by over-
drilling the casings to one foot deeper than maximum depth and grouting to surface with
neat cement. All surface remediation piping will be removed and underground piping
will be capped with grout. The remediation equipment will be salvaged or recycled. A
well destruction report will be submitted upon completion of fieldwork.
The Workplan is approved. Please submit the well destruction report by 10 May 2013
or provide a rational for an extension with a schedule if unable to meet the 90-day
deadline by 25 February 2013. Provide SJCEHD and myself at least three working
days notice prior to commencement of fieldwork.
