The Report was incomplete, and a
revised closure report is pending submittal by 17 August 2012, per discussion with Mr.
William Little, AGE. Although discussion of the commingled plume was not included in
the Report and data from the early investigations for both cases were not available until
recently acquired from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department, AGE
has communicated with me regularly concerning the Report and agreed to supply the
missing information in a timely manner.
Therefore, in order to not delay the closure process due to the above, you are directed
to conduct a 60-day public participation period for comments to the proposed closure.
AGE has provided a draft public notice and parcel maps for notification by email, and is
currently working on revisions to the draft notice after receiving email comments from
me. Upon my final email approval of the public notice, you shall mail out the notices to
the surrounding properties, owners and tenants, if applicable; post copies at the
businesses at your property; send one copy by mail to myself at the address below; and
mail copies to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department, the City of
Stockton Public Works Department, a nearby charter school, and the local water
purveyor. Upon completion of the public participation period, further directives concern
closure, including well destructions, will be issued.
You may contact me regarding questions by phone at (916) 464-4615; or by e-mail at
jbartonwaterboards.ca.dov.
James L.L.
