5.0 WORK PLAN
The March 4, 1986 product thickness measurements do not indicate the
need for additional remediation because non-recoverable thicknesses of
product were measured. The greatest product thickness measured was in "Old"
Well-1 and it was only 1/8 inch. Based upon the present field and chemical
analytical data for the site, we have prepared a scope of services which is
focused on assessing if economically recoverable free product exists at the
site. The proposed work plan is divided into the following tasks:
Task 1 Well purging and product measurement
Task 2 Soil sampling and installation of additional monitoring
wells
Task 3 Develop and sample wells
Task 4 Evaluate field and analytical data
Task 5 Remedial action alternatives analysis
Task 6 Report preparation.
These tasks will be explained in more detail in the following
sections.
5.1 Task 1 - Well Purging and Product Measurement
To date, only one set of product thickness measurements has been
colle5ted by MARK. Prior to initiating any other field work, product
thicknesses will be measured in all of the on-site monitoring wells. These
measurements will be made by using a clear acrylic bailer and an engineer's
scale.
After product thicknesses have been measured, each well will be
thoroughly purged and allowed to equilibrate. After approximately 1-1/2
weeks the product thicknesses in each well will be measured. It is
anticipated that these two sets of product thickness measurements as well
5-1
