EMERGENCIES <br />In the event of fire, explosion, physical injury or illness due to exposure <br />to chemicals, the procedures listed below should be followed as indicated <br />in the MARK Health and Safety Policy. Local ambulance and fire departments <br />can be contacted via telephone by dialing 2222. <br />Removed the injured or exposed person(s) from immediate danger to an <br />upwind location. <br />Render FIRST AID if necessary. Decontaminate affected personnel if <br />needed. <br />Call AMBULANCE (often provided by the FIRE DEPARTMENT) for transport <br />to local hospital. This Procedure should be followed even if there <br />is no apparent serious injury. EMERGENCY NUMBERS ARE LISTED IN <br />ATTACHMENT 1 TO THIS SAFETY SOP. <br />Evacuate other personnel on—site to a safe place until the Project <br />Manager, PM (assisted by the Site Safety Officer) determines that it <br />is safe for work to resume. <br />Contact a principal of MARK advising him/her of the accident and the <br />steps taken to prevent its recurrence. This should be done as soon <br />as possible by the PM. This principal will notify the client. <br />Complete a written report of the incident (accident) to a principal <br />of MARK within 24 hours.
