5.0 SHORT-TERM ACTIVITY PLAN <br />As part of The MARK Group's preparation of the work plan for <br />submission to RWQCB the following tasks are being undertaken: <br />Reconnaissance Evaluations and Status Report. This task involves <br />a thorough reconnaissance of the area and preparation of a Status <br />Report for submittal on March 7, 1986. For this task we have <br />compiled and preliminarily reviewed the readily available previous <br />data for the site. This task is complete with submission of this <br />report. <br />Compilation of Existing Data. All existing data as well as the <br />newly obtained data (as discussed in Tasks 3, 4, and 5) will be <br />compiled and thoroughly reviewed and synthesized. The results <br />will be used for development of the "work plan". We will also <br />obtain previous air photos of the site which have been taken prior <br />to and during the landfill operations. <br />Air Monitoring. We will review the air quality data to identify <br />if a hazardous condition exists, or if additional air quality <br />samples need be taken. <br />Sampling From Existing Wells. We have taken one round of <br />measurements of groundwater elevations and fuel thickness (if any) <br />in the existing wells. <br />Initial Soil Sampling. We have collected samples of near surface <br />soils from the banks of the sloughs and areas which may have been <br />contacted by the fuel product. We also have taken a number of <br />-9-
