(Arcadis) on behalf of Glenn Springs Holdings, Inc. (GSH), for the
former Occidental Chemical Corporation Facility (OCC) manufacturing facility
(Site). The Site is located at 16777 South Howland Road near the southwest
corner of Louise Avenue and South Howland Road in Lathrop, San Joaquin
County, California (Figures 1 and 2). Based on groundwater monitoring
analytical data and the planned footprint of the proposed development located on
adjacent parcel 198-120-090 (Figure 3 and 4) it is necessary to destroy six wells
associated with the OCC site. This document describes the activities associated
with destroying these six wells.
BACKGROUND
Groundwater is currently extracted from 12 locations (EW-02, -06, -08A, -08B, -
09, -10, -11, -12A, -12B, -13, -14A, -14B, -15A, and -15B). Extracted
groundwater is conveyed to the treatment system, treated, and re-injected on site
into injection wells IW-01 and IW-02. Well EW-03 was converted to injection well
INJ-13 in 2013. Injection well INJ-14 was installed in 2013, however was never
brought online.
Seven monitoring wells (PW08-076, PW08-155, PW08-180, PW09-080, PW09-
123, PW09-198, PW09-338), two extraction wells (EW-04 and EW-04A), and one
injection well (INJ-14) associated with the Site are located on parcel 198-120-
090, where development is planned this fall. The new property owner has
requested the wells be removed or relocated in accordance with the access
agreement to facilitate property development. The planned development includes
a large building. Wells EW-04 and EW-04A are located within the footprint of the
proposed building (Figure 3). The remaining wells are located within proposed
Lathrop Well Destruction Work Plan (8.10.2017).docx
Contact:
Jenifer Beatty
Phone:
916.786.7951
Email:
Jenifer.Beatty@arcadis.com
Our ref:
RV009840
Page:
1/4
