Durham Ferry Rd. Tracy, CA
RB Case #390375 (Geotracker Global ID # T0607700285)
Dear Mr. Kith:
Ground Zero Analysis, Inc. (Ground Zero) has prepared this Work Plan Addendum for the
destruction of a total of 34 wells including twenty (20) groundwater monitoring wells, eight (8)
air sparge wells and six (6) vapor extraction wells. The location of the Site's wells is shown on
the enclosed Figure 2.
The Revised Table 1 identifies the method of destruction. The methods used for well destruction
will follow the San Joaquin County Well Standards requirements.
Drill-Out
Wells will be destroyed based on the San Joaquin County and California State Well Standards.
The drill out method includes drilling out and removing all the contents of the well (conductor
casing, well casing, screen, filter pack and grout seal). Upon removing the well contents, the
cleared borehole will be sealed with neat cement by installing grout with a tremie pipe from the
bottom upward to a depth of approximately three (3) feet below grade. Clean native soil will be
used to fill the upper three (3) feet and capped with appropriate material (concrete, asphalt, dirt).
All soil and well materials will be properly containerized for disposal. All groundwater displaced
during drilling activities will be containerized for proper disposal.
At San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department's request, Ground Zero will drill out
all 34 wells. If an attempt to drill out wells MW2, MW-2X (potential conflict with fiber optic
cable), or the steel conductor casing of MW-202 is problematic, a field decision as to alternate
methods will be made in consultation with EHD personnel at that time.
