Charter Way, Stockton, CA
RB Case #390973 (Geotracker Global ID #10607700794)
Dear Mr. Buehler:
We are writing on behalf of Mr. George Betker in response to your letters dated December 16, 2016
and May 18, 2017 requesting a work plan for further shallow soil and soil vapor investigation. The
location of the site is shown on Figure 1.
Ground Zero submitted the Work Plan for Shallow Soil Investigation dated March 28, 2017
outlining the investigation of shallow soil contamination in the vicinity of IW-5. In a letter dated
May 18, 2017, the Regional Water Quality Control Board (RQCWB) denied the scope of work in
the Work Plan for Shallow Soil Investigation and requested the submittal of an Addendum to
include soil vapor sampling. This revision of the Workplan includes a proposal for soil vapor
sampling as requested.
In order to determine the extent and magnitude of the current vadose zone soil contamination in
the vicinity of 1W-5 and soil vapor in the vicinity of the northeast corner of the southern "shop"
building near MW-5, Ground Zero Analysis (Ground Zero) proposes the following scope of
work.
Pre-field Work and Permitting Activities
All fieldwork will be conducted in accordance with our Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan
(Attachment A) and Health & Safety Plan (Attachment B). Investigation derived wastes (drill
cuttings and decon/purge water) will be drummed and properly disposed of. Drilling permits will be
obtained from San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. Underground utilities will be
checked by clearly marking the proposed boring locations in white paint and calling the location in
for a clearance ticket by Underground Services Alert (USA).
Shallow Confirmation Soil Sampling
In order to investigate the current magnitude of soil contamination in the vicinity of IW-5, five soil
borings will be advanced with a hand auger at the approximate locations shown on Figure 2. The
borings will be advanced to a maximum depth of approximately 8 feet below grade. Soil samples
Final Soil Sampling WP 2017 Addendum.doc
•
