Mr. Alan Buehler, P.G., RWQCB
May 18, 2018
Work Plan for Additional Site Investigation Project No. 2092-2057-01
2057 South El Dorado Street, Stockton, CA
Page 4
Collect soil samples from boring CPT-8.
The proposed scope of work has been subdivided into four tasks, as outlined below.
Details are provided for the activities associated with each task. All work will be
conducted under the direct supervision of a State of California Registered Geologist or
Civil Engineer and will be conducted in accordance with standards established by
December 2015 LUFT Manual and SJCEHD guidelines.
Task 1: Pre-Field Activities
Following approval of this document by the RWQCB, the following activities will be
completed:
Obtain right-of-entry agreements, as necessary, to enable advancement of borings
CPT-5 through CPT-8.
Obtain drilling permit(s) from SJCEHD,
Retain and schedule a licensed C-57 drilling contractor,
Update the Health and Safety Plan for the Site,
Mark drilling locations and contact Underground Service Alert (USA) to locate
underground utilities in the vicinity of the work site, and
Notify the RWQCB, SJCEHD, USA, and the affected property owners of the
scheduled field activities.
Task 2: Field Activities
Task 2A: CPT Soil Borings and Groundwater Sampling
Stratus will oversee a California licensed drilling contractor advance borings CPT-5
through CPT-8 to an approximate depth of 120 feet bgs. The proposed locations of the
borings are shown on Figure 3. The actual locations of the borings will be based on
accessibility and the location of underground utilities, as determined by the geologist in
the field. CPT consists of advancing a cone-tipped cylindrical probe (1.7 inches in
diameter) into the ground while simultaneously measuring the resulting resistance to
penetration. A computer generated CPT log is plotted in the field, providing a continuous
log of Site lithology. The CPT log will be uploaded to the State Water Resources Control
Board's GeoTracker website. Upon completion of CPT profiling, the boreholes will be
pressure grouted from the bottom of the borehole up to surface grade.
Following the CPT work, groundwater samples will be collected from separate borings,
located approximately 2 feet from the initial CPT-5 through CPT-8 borings. A minimum
of five groundwater samples will be collected adjacent to CPT-5 through CPT-8.
KAQuick N Save #2 \Work Plans\Q-N-S#2-WP-2018.doc STRATUS
