Mr. Alan Buehler, P.G., RWQCB May 18, 2018
Work Plan for Additional Site Investigation Project No. 2092-2057-01
2057 South El Dorado Street, Stockton, CA
Page 5
Sampling depths will be determined at the time of the investigation and will
preferentially target coarser-grained saturated strata, but also take into account sampling
depths at borings CPT-1 through CPT-4. At boring CPT-8, Stratus will collect soil
samples from approximately 15, 23, 31, and 39 feet bgs, from the area north of the UST
at 2070 South El Dorado Street.
HydropunchTm sampling equipment will be used to collect the groundwater samples at
the desired depth intervals. The HydropunchTm sampler will be pushed to the bottom of
the sampling interval using 2-inch diameter steel rods. The steel rods are then
subsequently retracted approximately four feet, exposing the screen, allowing for the
collection of depth-discrete groundwater samples. The groundwater samples will be
collected using a clean bailer, transferred to laboratory-supplied glass vials, properly
labeled, and placed in an ice-chilled cooler. Soil samples will be collected with a piston
sampler equipped with two stainless steel sleeves. The bottommost intact sleeve of soil
will be capped, labeled, and stored in an ice-chilled cooler. The samples will be
transported under strict chain-of-custody protocol to a California-certified analytical
laboratory for analysis. Upon completion of groundwater sampling, the respective
boreholes will be pressure grouted from the bottom of the borehole up to surface grade.
Task 2C: Waste Management
Soil and wastewater generated during the activities will be placed in DOT approved
55-gallon drums and temporarily stored onsite. A composite sample will be collected
from the soil cuttings and will be analyzed to determine an appropriate disposal method.
A licensed contractor will dispose of the soil and wastewater at an appropriate facility.
Task 3: Laboratory Analysis
Soil and groundwater samples will be forwarded to a state-certified laboratory for
chemical analysis. The samples will be analyzed for GRO using USEPA Method
8015/8260, and for BTEX, 1,2-DCA, MTBE, TBA, DIPE, TAME, and ethyl tertiary
butyl ether (ETBE) using USEPA Method 8260. Analytical data will be uploaded to the
GeoTracker website.
Task 4: Site Assessment Report
Following completion of the field activities, a report will be prepared, documenting the
implemented work. The report will include, at a minimum, a scaled site plan, tabulated
soil and groundwater analytical results, certified analytical reports, CPT logs and related
information, confirmation of Geotracker data uploads, and an in-depth evaluation of the
data and a discussion of findings.
KAQuick N Save #2 \Work Plans \Q-N-S#2-WP-2018.doc
STRATUS
