Equipment must be decontaminated prior to removal from the work area. All monitoring equipment will be
cleaned according to instrument instructions. Rinsate is to be containerized and disposed of with other field
derived waste.
3.7 Substance Abuse Policy
Stratus Environmental has a comprehensive Drug & Alcohol Policy which all site workers are incorporated into
and required to adhere to. Substance abuse on a project site greatly increases the potential for incidents to occur
and therefore, is never permitted on a Stratus project site. Stratus personnel will be subject to testing under the
following circumstances:
Post Incident- Following the occurrence of an incident, all personnel involved are subject to be
evaluated for the presence of drugs and/ or alcohol having contributed to the causes of the incident.
Reasonable Cause- Personnel are evaluated for their fitness for duty on a daily basis. Stratus site
responsible personnel reserve the right to inform management of suspect worker behavior which may be
a result of substance abuse.
Pre-employment- Stratus Project Managers may request that all site personnel be evaluated for the
presence of substance abuse prior to starting work on the projects. This is generally the result of client
requirements. Currently, this project does not require that site workers be screened for drugs and alcohol
prior to starting work.
Subcontractors must have an internal substance abuse policy consistent with the Stratus "Drug & Alcohol
Policy" in order to work on any Stratus project site. Subcontractor employees suspected to be in violation of the
Stratus policy will be subject to their company's policy. Where the subcontractor has no internal policy, they
may adopt and must adhere to the requirements of the Stratus policy.
BP Arco # HASP Created by: Scott Bittinger Revised by: Evan Lee Fan
Template Version: 02.02 Created on: 10/02/2017 Revision date:10/30/2017
