Spas must have a minimum of two depth markers. <br /> Markers should indicate depth to the nearest 6 inches. <br /> Pools greater than five feet in depth shall have a four-inch straight line of slip-resistant <br /> contrasting tile along the floor of the pool where the water depth is 4 % feet. <br /> 10 Pools greater than 20 feet in width shall have deck depth tiles that are slip-resistant and <br /> placed on the deck at all locations where there are water tile-line depth markers. <br /> 11. All swimming pools with diving boards must comply with the current pool code. Diving <br /> boards and supports that do not comply with current standards must be removed. <br /> . Coping that is being replaced must extend over the pool wall 1 to 2 inches and not be <br /> thicker than 2 %:inches. <br /> 13. Swimming pool shells must be white in color. Spa pools maybe light pastel colors. All <br /> materials other than plaster must be submitted to the EHD for approval. <br /> 14 ermanently installed cleaner lines may only be return lines. Vacuum lines (suction <br /> lines) are not permitted for use as pool cleaner lines. <br /> 15 If handrails or grab rails around the pool or spa need to be replaced, the contractor must <br /> tie them into the existing bond beam with the appropriate connection. The local building <br /> department must be contacted when replacing handrails to verify proper bonding. <br /> 16. Each step of a stair shall have the same dimensions with step treads no less than 12, <br /> inches wide and riser height not greater than 12-inches high. If the top step is curved <br /> convexly, it shall be 18-inches wide or greater measured at the maximum point of <br /> curvature. <br /> 17. Benches are not permitted in pools. They shall be removed at time of re-surfacing. <br /> Benches are only permitted in spas providing that the water depth over the bench does <br /> not exceed 24-inches. <br />
