Adik
State of California
Environmental Affairs Agency California Integrated Waste Management Board
Facility Name: Facility No. -
SUPPLEMENTAL WORKSHEET FOR
CLOSURE/POSTCLOSURE COST ESTIMATES
ANNUAL INFLATION FACTOR
1990
Pursuant to Title 14 California Code of Regulations, Section 18272,
a report is required by March 1 of each year, calculating the
increase in the cost estimates due to inflation for the previous
calendar year. Based on information obtained from the U. S.
Department of Commerce, Bureau of Economics, on February 19, 1991,
the inflation factor for 1990 is 1.054. The operator must then
increase the monetary amount of the financial mechanism required
under Title 14 California Code of Regulations, Section 18283, to
reflect the adjusted total.
Insert into the following formula, the TOTAL COSTS value from
either the "Summary of Initial Cost Estimates" page of the initial
cost estimate worksheets, or the approved closure and postclosure
maintenance plans. Multiply the TOTAL COSTS figure by the
inflation factor to determine the new ADJUSTED TOTAL as illustrated
below.
Sample: The XYZ Landfill has TOTAL COSTS of $3 , 000, 000. After
multiplying these total costs by the inflation factor of 1. 054,
they found that their ADJUSTED TOTAL for 1991 will be $3 , 162, 000.
$3 , 000, 000 x 1. 054 = $3,162,000
Using the TOTAL COSTS from your initial cost estimate summary
sheet, calculate the following.
$ x 1. 054 = $
TOTAL COSTS ADJUSTED TOTAL
1991
Date Owner or Operator Signature
Company Name
Area Code / Phone Number
CIWMB 114A(1/91)
