Based on information obtained from the U. S. <br /> Department of Commerce, Bureau of Economics, on February 19, 1991, <br /> the inflation factor for 1990 is 1.054. The operator must then <br /> increase the monetary amount of the financial mechanism required <br /> under Title 14 California Code of Regulations, Section 18283, to <br /> reflect the adjusted total. <br /> Insert into the following formula, the TOTAL COSTS value from <br /> either the "Summary of Initial Cost Estimates" page of the initial <br /> cost estimate worksheets, or the approved closure and postclosure <br /> maintenance plans. Multiply the TOTAL COSTS figure by the <br /> inflation factor to determine the new ADJUSTED TOTAL as illustrated <br /> below. <br /> Sample: The XYZ Landfill has TOTAL COSTS of $3 , 000, 000.
