Proiect Number 2098RV45 November 30 2017
SITE SAFETY PLAN FOR SITE INVESTIGATION ACTIVITIES
1744 West Hammer Lane
Stockton, California
Introduction•
This Site Safety Plan (SSP) has been designed to address safety provisions needed
during soil and groundwater investigation activities to be performed at and in the
vicinity of the Park Woods Shopping Center (including Park Woods Cleaners) site
located at 1744 West Hammer Lane in Stockton, California. Its purpose is to provide
established procedures to protect all on-site personnel from direct skin contact,
inhalation, or ingestion of potentially hazardous materials that may be encountered at
the site. The SSP establishes personnel responsibilities, personal protective
equipment standards decontamination procedures, and emergency action plans.
The SSP describes means for protecting all on-site personnel from deleterious
contamination or personal injury while conducting on-site activities. As described
below all requirements promulgated by the California Department of Health Services
will be met.
Scope of Services
E2C seeks to enter property described above for the purpose of drilling, soil vapor
sampling, well installation, soil and groundwater sampling activities. Drilling
equipment will be brought to the Site and operated by a subcontractor:
J&H Drilling, Inc.
7431 Walnut Ave.
Buena Park, CA 90620
(714) 994-0402
C-57 # 740854
During drilling operations, soil samples will be collected as described in the site
investigation workplan dated November 15, 2017 during soil boring and monitoring
well installation using direct push GeoProbe or hollow stem auger drilling equipment.
All possible efforts will be made to collect undisturbed samples. Each sample to be
chemically analyzed will be collected in a brass sleeve or plastic liner, capped with
lined plastic lids, sealed with tape, and placed on ice in a cooler immediately. All
Chain-of-Custody protocol will be followed.
Drilling activities will also occur inside site building. When work indoors, adequate
ventilation and lighting will be put in place before equipment operation and any
working activities begin. For indoor drilling activities, and/or testing activities, either
equipment exhaust will be extended to outdoors or adequate ventilation (all doors
and/or windows open) with large industrial shop fans will be employed. Workspace
carbon monoxide and VOC monitoring will be implemented throughout the indoor
work process. During work time indoors, a PID will be used to monitoring indoor air
condition periodically. Smoking inside the building is prohibited.
Responsibilities of Key Personnel:
All personnel on site will have assigned responsibilities. Mr. Aiguo Xu, P.E. of E2C
E2C Remediation B-1
