AdvancedGeo
Environmental
MOM
05 January 2018
AGE Project No. 18-4265
Page 2 of 6
information collected at nearby sites, AGE does not anticipate that groundwater will be
encountered during this investigation.
To evaluate if the former USTs, the current oil/water separator, and in-ground lifts have
impacted subsurface conditions at the site, AGE has prepared the following work plan.
Procedures for soil and soil-vapor, and groundwater sample collection are described in
detail below.
SCOPE OF WORK
AGE proposes to advance a total of fourteen (14) soil borings at the site in the following
locations:
Ten (10) soil borings near each of the existing and former in-ground hydraulic lifts.
Each boring will be advanced to a total depth of ten (10) feet bsg. Soil samples will
be collected from depths of 5 and 10 feet from each boring.
One (1) soil boring near the existing oil-water separator to a total depth of 10 feet
bsg. Soil samples will be collected from depths of 5 and 10 feet from the boring.
Two (2) soil borings in the former UST areas. One (1) boring near the former fuel
UST area, and one (1) boring near the former waste oil UST area. Each boring will
be advanced to depths of 20 feet bsg. Soil samples will be collected from each boring
at depths of 5, 10, 15 and 20 feet. Additionally, soil-vapor samples will be collected
from the three (3) borings advanced near the former UST and dispenser locations.
Soil-vapor samples will be collected in Summa Canisters from a depth of 5 feet bsg.
One (1) boring near the former fuel dispenser island to a total depth of 5 feet bsg.
Soil samples will be collected from 5 feet bsg.
Proposed boring locations are depicted in Figure 2.
Proposed borings will be advanced using a Geoprobe 5400 direct-push probing unit.
Samples will be submitted to a California Department of Public Health (CDPH)-Certified
laboratory and will be analyzed for:
Total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) in accordance with EPA Method 8015 (soil
only);
Polychlorinated bi-phenols (PCBs) in accordance with EPA Method 8082 (soil only);
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in accordance with EPA Method 8260B (soil
only);
Oil and grease in accordance with EPA Method 1664 (soil only);
VOCs and in accordance with EPA Method TO-15 (soil vapor).
