(Stratus) has prepared this Work Plan for Offsite Monitoring
Well Installation (Work Plan), on behalf of the Knowles Family Trust, for the Knowles
Property located at 1120 West Hammer Lane, Stockton, California (the site, see Figure
1). Petroleum hydrocarbon impact to the subsurface has previously been documented at
the subject property, and the California Regional Water Quality Control Board
(RWQCB) currently regulates an environmental case on the property. Mr. Knowles was
recently accepted into the Underground Storage Tank (UST) Cleanup Fund's Expedited
Claim Account Program (ECAP), which is intended to develop a list of tasks needed to
manage the site's environmental case towards eventual closure. During a Joint Execution
Team (JET) meeting, the RWQCB and the UST Cleanup Fund requested that an offsite
groundwater monitoring well be installed north-northeast of the site. The purpose of the
well is to further delineate the extent of petroleum hydrocarbon and fuel additive impact
to shallow water, and provide water quality information between the site and a
neighborhood to the north where numerous domestic water supply wells have been
identified. Details associated with the proposed installation of the well (MW-13) are
described in the following subsections of this Work Plan.
SCOPE OF WORK
The objective of the proposed scope of work is to further assess impact to groundwater
north-northeast of the site. To accomplish this objective, Stratus is proposing the
following work activities.
Drill and install one (1) groundwater monitoring well (MW-13) offsite using
hollow stem augers.
K:\Knowles-Hammer LaneWork Plans\knowles-hammer-offsite-well-workplan.doc
