Mr. Geoff Rader, RWQCB
August 28, 2017
Work Plan for Offsite Monitoring Well Installation Project No. 2129-1140-01
1120 West Hammer Lane, Stockton, CA
Page 4
Task 2D: Waste Management
Soil cuttings, auger rinseate water, and well development water will be placed in
55-gallon steel drums, appropriately labeled, and temporarily stored at the site pending
disposal characterization. A licensed contractor will transport the soil and wastewater to
an appropriate facility for disposal shortly following the investigation.
Task 2E: Analytical Testing
Soil and groundwater samples will be forwarded to a state-certified analytical laboratory
for chemical analysis under proper chain-of-custody. The samples will be analyzed for
gasoline range organics (GRO) using EPA Method 8015, and for benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX compounds), methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE),
naphthalene, 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB), and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) using EPA
Method 8260.
Task 3: Well Installation Report
A well installation report will be prepared documenting findings of the drilling activities,
and will include, but not be limited to, a scaled site plan, boring logs, well construction
details, certified analytical results, and will document any modifications from this Work
Plan. The report will be submitted within approximately four weeks of receiving all
analytical results.
SCHEDULE
Following approval of this Work Plan, an access agreement will be sent to the owner of
the property north-northeast of the site. If permission to install well MW-13 on this
property can be obtained, the work will promptly be scheduled once a drilling permit is
obtained from SJCEHD. If the property owner refuses access to complete the work, than
an encroachment permit application package will be submitted to the City of Stockton
Public Works Department. Based on historical experience, we believe approximately 2
to 3 months would be necessary to obtain the encroachment permit, which would delay
installation of MW-13 until early 2018.
LIMITATIONS
This document was prepared in general accordance with accepted standards of care that
existed at the time this work was performed. No other warranty, expressed or implied, is
made. Conclusions and recommendations are based on field observations and data
obtained from this work and previous investigations. It should be recognized that
KAKnowles-Hammer Lane \Work Plananowles-hammer-offsite-well-workplan.doc STRATUS
