Date: July 25, 2018
Work Plan for Additional Environmental Investigation,
371 South Garfield Avenue, Manteca, California
subcontractor using a hand auger for the first five feet to confirm there are no utilities, and then
installing the soil-gas sampling points using the direct push (or equivalent) drilling method to advance
the post-run tubing (PRT) in accordance with DTSC approved methods2 .
The soil-gas samples will be collected in laboratory-provided SUMA canisters in accordance with the
DTSC guidance and will be transferred under strict chain-of-custody procedures to a California-certified
analytical laboratory. The samples will be analyzed for VOCs using the EPA Method TO-15.
Borings will be backfilled with neat cement grout in accordance with SJCEHD requirements when
sampling is complete. Pavement, gravel, or soil surfaces will be repaired using concrete, gravel, or soil to
match original conditions as closely as possible. Spray paint used for utility clearance may remain visible
for approximately one to two months.
Investigation derived waste (IDW) may consist of soil boring cores, soil cuttings, disposable sampling
supplies, and decontamination rinse water. These materials will be placed into 55-gallon drum(s) and
left at the Site until waste characterization and off-site disposal can be scheduled. IDW will be sampled,
if necessary, to facilitate waste disposal acceptance.
Task 3 Data Analysis and Report Preparation
Upon completion of investigation activities and receipt of final analytical laboratory results, Terraphase
will prepare a draft report documenting the investigation work and summarizing the findings. The report
will include the following:
figures showing the Subject Site and sampling locations;
tables summarizing the analytical data;
a comparison of the analytical data to applicable regulatory screening levels; and
conclusions and recommendations;
Closing
If you have any questions or comment regarding this work plan, please contact Andy Lojo at 510 645
1850 ext. 77.
Sincerely,
Andrew M.
