Date: July 25, 2018
Work Plan for Additional Environmental Investigation,
371 South Garfield Avenue, Manteca, California
Scope of Work
The scope of work to complete the objectives of the proposed Investigation includes the following three
tasks:
Task 1 - Pre-Field Preparation
Task 2 - Drilling, Sampling, and Laboratory Analysis
Task 3 - Data Analysis and Report Preparation
Task 1 - Pre-Field Activities
Pre-field activities include:
Coordination of access with the Manteca Unified School District
Update the site-specific health and safety plan (HASP) that was prepared for the Phase II
work to include the activities described in this proposal. Site personnel, including on-site
subcontractors will be required to familiarize themselves with the HASP and sign an
acknowledgment that they have read the HASP. The HASP will identify the specific chemical
compounds that have the potential to be encountered at the Site. Excerpts from the HASP
identifying the chemicals of potential concern, required personal protective equipment
(PPE), key personnel and contacts, and nearest hospital and route map are included as an
attachment to this Work Plan to be used by SJCEHD. The full HASP can be provided upon
request.
Visit the Site to pre-mark proposed drilling and sampling locations in the field for utility
clearance purposes.
Notify Underground Service Alert of Northern California (800-227-2600). USA will be notified
at least 72-hours prior to drilling and sampling activities. USA will mark underground utilities
in public rights-of-way in the site vicinity.
Prior to conducting intrusive sampling, Terraphase will subcontract with a private
underground utility locator to mark proposed drilling areas for the presence of underground
utilities.
Terraphase will subcontract a licensed drilling contractor and analytical laboratory to
complete investigative drilling and analytical work. Terraphase will also rent or purchase
sampling and monitoring equipment and supplies, as needed.
Task 2 - Drilling, Sampling, and Laboratory Analysis
The proposed sampling locations are shown on Figure 2. A soil-gas sample will be collected from each of
the six locations at a depth of approximately 15 feet bgs. Sample collection and analytical methods are
described below.
Task 2.1 Soil-Gas Sampling
The six proposed soil-gas boring locations are shown on Figure 2. One sample will be collected from
each location at approximately 15 feet bgs. The borings will be drilled by a licensed drilling
Page 2 of 4 Terraphase Engineering Inc.
