SITE-SPECIFIC HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN FOR WELL INSTALLATIONS <br />Other Site Hazards <br />May 4, 2017 <br />5.0 Other Site Hazards <br /> <br />5.1 PHYSICAL HAZARDS <br />The most likely physical hazards at the site are: <br />Slips, trips, and falls <br />Pinch points and sharp objects <br />Vehicle traffic <br />Manual handling <br />Heavy equipment with rotating parts (drill rig) <br />Weather, including heat and cold stress <br />Underground and overhead utilities <br />Noise <br />Uneven terrain (curbs and gutters) <br />Pedestrians <br />Exposure to nuisance dust <br />JSAs appropriate for this project and included in Attachment 5. If a new task arises, a JSA will be <br />written, reviewed, copied, and required on site (along with relevant SOP) to complete that <br />particular task. The PPE Hazard Assessment Checklist in Attachment 6 will be reviewed and <br />updated if necessary prior to the start of any new task to identify hazards and applicable PPE. <br /> <br />5.2 WEATHER AND NATURAL DISASTERS <br />Hazards associated with weather and natural disasters may include, but are not limited to, <br />effects of heat (heat exhaustion, heat stroke), effects of cold (hypothermia, frostbite), high <br />winds/tornadoes, heavy rain, lightning/thunderstorms, heavy snow, ice, earthquakes, landslides, <br />flooding, etc. <br />The most likely hazards at the site are effects of extreme heat/cold (heat exhaustion, heat stroke, <br />hypothermia, frost bite) and earthquakes. <br />21
