Waste oils were reused as chain lubricants, waste solvents were evaporated or
added to the waste oils, and waste waxes were put back into the production of the Duraflame
fireplace log. It is unknown what quantity was produced and what was done with the hazardous
waste generated during this time.
Storm lines that had been plugged by wax have been clean out by Cal Cedar.
The boiler on site was permitted and began production sometime in the early 1970s (Permit
N150-8-0).
The boiler has not been in production since 1990.The capacity of the Delta dumpster used for the
disposal of wet and fly ash is estimated to be 20 cubic yards.
The containment pallets used for hazardous waste drum storage were in place as of 1988. Prior
to use of the containment pallets, hazardous wastes were stored south of the site on wooden
pallets on the concrete.
Cal Cedar monitors its air emissions and submits an annual report to the San Joaquin County
Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District
DATE:
CONTACT CONCURRENCE:
Contact Report • Gonzalez • 4/93
Printed on 50% recycled paper ,K9
