Please inform EHD of the spill and let's take a look at the spill prevention measures; including
the exterior overfill alarm. Thanks!
(David B. Upon
investigation, I noted the Veeter Root system was in alarm mode with the orange light illuminated. I walked out to the
fuel truck to advise the driver of the alarm. He said that he had had a spill, which I noted in at least three separate areas.
I came back inside and contacted Fleet to provide an update. I was advised that they had alerted their tank operator and
they would come out to handle. While waiting on the operator to arrive, a white pickup showed up and began spreading
out absorbent and working the spill. Both individuals worked the spill and ended up leaving just shortly before the
operator arrived. I updated the operator as to what took place and escorted him into the room where the Veeter Root
system is located. We then walked out to the fueling area to examine the spill area.Three separate areas were noted to
indicate a spill and one of them was around the drain for the oil/water separator. The operator took photos and tested
the exterior alarm which did not work. This he noted.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Lowell Allen
Emergency Planner
San Joaquin County
2
