Hazardous Materials Training for Thread Oil <br /> Last Date Created/Modified:August 25, 2021 <br /> Hazard Identification <br /> Thread oil may be harmful if swallowed and cause a mild skin/eye irritation, or serious eye damage. <br /> Potential Health Effects <br /> Inhalation <br /> Inhalation of oil m <br /> ists or vapors could cause pulmonary irritation, dizziness and nausea. <br /> Skin <br /> Wash skin thoroughly after handling. If skin irritation occurs: Get medical attention. <br /> Eyes <br /> If in eyes: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. If eye irritation occurs: Get medical attention. <br /> Hazards of Materials <br /> Never use welding or a cutting torch on or near the drum/container, even empty, because product or <br /> residues can potentially ignite explosively. <br /> Emergency Response <br /> Evacuation is not recommended. <br /> Accidental Release Measures <br /> Steps to Be Taken if Material is Released/Spilled <br /> Small Spill <br /> Use caution; spilled material may be slippery. Prevent the spill from entering a storm water sewer <br /> system. <br /> Use an inert or cellulosic material to absorb spilled product. Using cellulosic absorbents may facilitate <br /> incineration disposal options. <br /> Large Spill <br /> Use caution; spilled material is extremely slippery. Contain spilled material and prevent from entering a <br /> storm water sewer systems. <br /> Under the EPA Clean Water Act,this product is classified as an oil under Section 311.
