8.0 IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES
The following sources of past, current, on-site, and off-site contamination have
been identified as a result of this investigation:
1
2
3
C!
Identified Contamination Source Evaluation
The Site has been used for
agriculture since 1940 or earlier,
and recently to grow row crops and
alfalfa. A variety of agricultural
chemicals have been applied to the
Site during the past five years,
according to the San Joaquin
County Agricultural
Commissioner's office. (Current
and past on-site)
A domestic well and septic system
are located on the Site. (Current
on-site)
At the adjacent house to the west,
several old cars and car parts were
stored outside near the property
line with the Site. (Current off-site)
Three hazardous materials facilities
were identified within one-quarter
mile of the Site. One of these,
approximately 600 feet east of the
Site, was a poultry farm in the past.
(Current and past off-site)
9.0 RECOMMENDATONS
As with any agricultural property,
agricultural chemical residues may
be present in Site soils from
previous applications. The typical
standard of care for SSCRs does
not require further investigation of
agricultural use.
The well and septic system are
currently in use.
Automotive maintenance can be a
source of fuel, oils, and other
contaminants.
Based on records reviewed for the
three facilities, no evidence of
impacts to the subject Site was
identified. Poultry farms can be a
source of nitrate and other
contaminants if waste materials are
not properly stored and disposed.
This report should be seen as a screening tool to identify areas where hazardous
substances may be present on the Site. As part of the land use application
process, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department may
recommend that certain actions be taken in response to conditions identified.
Additionally, any conditions out of compliance with local, State, or Federal
regulations should be brought into compliance; it is outside the scope of work of
the Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report to identify these conditions.
LOGE 2120 7
