Dock Worker / Freight Handling Professional (FHP) <br />General Description: Dock Workers efficiently sort, handle, load and unload freight from over -the road equipment, <br />containers, city trailers, and/or straight trucks following oral and written instructions as well as federal and state <br />regulations. Dock Workers operate equipment including propane -powered forklifts, pallet jacks, and barcode scanners, <br />and are subject to varying climate conditions. <br />Hazardous Waste Management Role: Trained in recognizing and reporting accidental releases to management. Trained <br />to contain accidental releases in a manner to maintain employee safety. <br />Qualifications: Employee is trained on hazardous material and waste management, Facility Contingency Plans, and <br />hazcom. <br />Training Frequency: Initial training and annual refresher training. <br />Hostler Driver, Driver, Pickup & Delivery (P&D) <br />General Description: Drivers pick up and deliver freight in the safest and most cost-effective manner to meet or exceed <br />customer expectations and to achieve service center and company goals. <br />Hazardous Waste Management Role: Trained in recognizing accidental releases and reporting them to either their <br />Supervisor or the YRC Chemical Helpline. Their Supervisor or the YRC Chemical Helpline will call a spill -response <br />contractor to clean up the material. Drivers do not handle or participate in accidental release cleanup. <br />Qualifications: Employee is trained on DOT regulations, Facility Contingency Plans, and hazard communication. <br />Training Frequency: Initial training and annual refresher training for contingency plans and hazcom; DOT training is <br />required every three years. <br />Weights & Inspections (W&I) <br />General Description: W&I employees are trained to oversee shipping operations and verify that all freight is weighed <br />appropriately and documented accurately. Employees are trained to perform their job duties in the safest and most <br />cost-effective manner to meet or exceed customer expectations, and to achieve service center and company goals. <br />Hazardous Waste Management Role: Trained in recognizing accidental releases and reporting them to either their <br />Supervisor or the YRC Chemical Helpline. Their Supervisor or the YRC Chemical Helpline will determine if the release can <br />be cleaned up safely and effectively by onsite personnel or if a spill -response contractor will be utilized. W&I employees <br />do not handle or participate in accidental release cleanup. <br />Qualifications: Employee is trained on Facility Contingency Plans and hazcom. <br />Training Frequency: Initial training and annual refresher training. <br />Equipment Manager <br />General Description: Manages and oversees mechanics, shop supervisor and available resources (manpower and <br />equipment) to ensure that equipment is repaired in the safest and most cost-effective manner to meet or exceed <br />DOT/FMCSA expectations and to achieve service center and company goals. <br />Hazardous Waste Management Role: Trained to recognize and supervise accidental release cleanup and employee <br />safety.
