_^ Open competition sales program responsibilities in San Jose <br />C':z� <br />cResponsible for daily operations of 60 routes including, maintenance, safety, regulatory compliance <br />:� <br />Responsibility for all cominunity relations, customer service and reporting <br />Planning development with City of Milpitas <br />Waste Management Houston, Texas. 1987-2003 <br />Vice President and General Manager 1993 - 2003 <br />P&L responsibilities fox local market operations in California counties of Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, <br />Fresno, Contra Costa, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, San Jose, Stanislaus and Merced. <br />-P& L responsibility for $100 million in annual revenue. <br />-Responsible for more than 500 union and non-union employees. <br />-Responsible for daily operations and 5 -year planning for approximately 350 collection routes, (4) <br />four transfer stations, (2) two landfills, (3) three Material Recovery Facilities (MRF) and (2) two <br />composting operations. <br />Developed new programs and enhancements to improve customer service quality, productivity <br />efficiency, safety frequency, employee satisfaction, community growth planning, business marketing, <br />and transportation. <br />-Project management and initiative rollouts including the implementation of new financial system <br />software, productivity monitoring programs, political campaign approaches, new -venture start-up <br />operations, administration enhancement and company image campaigns. <br />• Created annual budgets and departmental goals to ensure corporate and jurisdictional expectations <br />were implemented and in compliance. <br />Developed SRRE plans for communities in solid waste <br />Liaison work with the California Integrated Waste Management Board <br />Waste Management Inc. 1987-1993 <br />Controller/Sales Manager/Operations Manager <br />Increased and diverse responsibilities for all departments, in Waste Management's divisions <br />• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements, annual budgets, SEC packages, tax <br />packages, and all jurisdictional reporting. <br />• Coordinate all office operations, productivity tracking, and departmental reporting and performed <br />cost -benefit analysis projects for the general manager. <br />Responsible for all internal controls to comply with both internal and external audit requirements. <br />Create pro -forma's for new business and RFP responses. <br />Sales manage.- responsibilities including a 14 person outside sales staff, price inerease planning and <br />implementation, territory and major account management, market pricing, bid preparations, manage a <br />25 -person customer service department, revenue forecasting and manage compensation incentives, <br />• As sales manager increased San Jose market share to 40% from 22%, increased route productivity <br />and profitability for operations through target marketing, and reduced franchisee fee payments by <br />$200,000 annually through increased recycling sales. <br />As operations manager conducted six re-route projects to eliminate unproductive routes, <br />implemented full automation routes including green waste and curbside recycling programs. <br />
