EXISTING ON-SITE SEPTIC TANK USAGE <br /> <br />The existing septic system services the three residential structures (houses) and two <br />commercial buildings at the property. However, the commercial buildings are currently <br />vacant. The three residential structures on the property have a total of six (6) bedrooms <br />and utilizes the existing septic system 365 days a year. The average and reasonable <br />maximum usage of wastewater for six bedrooms on the property by residents is 100 <br />gallons per day (gpd) for the first bedroom and 50 gpd for each additional bedroom for a <br />total of 350 gpd. <br /> <br />The proposed research facility will occupy the 3,000 square foot commercial building and <br />will be utilized Monday through Friday by a maximum of six (6) employees. <br /> <br /> <br />3.2. SITE SEPTIC PERMIT HISTORY <br /> <br />There are no septic permit records on file at the EHD for the property address. <br /> <br /> <br />3.3. ON-SITE SEPTIC TANK REPAIR HISTORY <br /> <br />There are no septic wastewater repair permits on file at the EHD. <br /> <br /> <br />3.4. EXISTING SEPTIC TANK USAGE IN THE GENERAL AREA <br /> <br />Neighboring properties are zoned for general commercial and residential use. Several <br />liquid waste permits are on record at the EHD for installation of septic systems <br />surrounding the subject property. <br /> <br /> <br />3.5. GENERAL AREA SEPTIC PERMIT HISTORY <br /> <br />The following is a summary of information based on new septic system installation permits <br />currently on file with EHD. <br /> <br />ADDRESS: 26310 Thornton Road <br />LOCATION: Approximately 220 feet to the northeast <br />SEPTIC SYSTEM: 1) Permit date May 1997; special permit issued for the installation of <br />two 35-foot-long leach lines and an 8-foot-wide by 35-foot-long by 4-foot-deep filter bed. <br /> <br />ADDRESS: 26238 Thornton Road <br />LOCATION: Approximately 96 feet to the northeast <br />SEPTIC SYSTEM: 1) Permit date February 2008; replacement and destruction of old <br />tank: 1, 500-gallon sweet septic tank with two compartments, 1,200-gallon sweet grease <br />trap with two compartments; and a 3.3-foot-wide by 49-foot-long by 3.5-foot-deep filter <br />bed.
