According to the San Joaquin County District Viewer (sjmap.org), the Site is zoned AG-
40, General Agriculture with a minimum parcel size of 40 acres. This zoning
designation "is established to preserve agricultural lands for the continuation of
commercial agriculture enterprises" (San Joaquin County Community Development
Department.
Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
Two septic systems are currently located on the Site.
Proposed Septic System
No new septic systems are proposed.
On-Site Septic Permit History
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department septic permit files were
searched for the Site addresses. Four permits were identified:
• March 1969 permit for addition to existing residential septic system. A 45-foot
leach line and a sump were added to the system (3592).
• February 1988 permit for repair to existing residential system. A 40-foot leach
line and a 2- by 10- by 10-foot deep sump were added to the system (3592).
• April 2017 permit for addition to existing septic system at residence. The permit
indicates a 1,600-gallon septic tank and two 50-foot leach lines were installed
(3592).
• December 2018 permit for replacement septic system at residence. A 1,200-
gallon septic tank and four 75-foot leach lines were installed (3434).
These permits have been included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic systems that
exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo imagery
from Google Earth was used. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to have
one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that at least 23 septic systems per
square mile are located in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The Site is surrounded by vineyards with rural residences.
LOGE 2151 Page 2
