5-2 <br />There are three water wells at the site . /\ 2,000 gpm 'Nell at the landfi l l entrance fac il ity, a <br />1 ,000 gpm 'Nell for f i re and dust contro l at the rear of the RRF , and a 20 gpm for domestic <br />use located in the front of the facil ity . An approximate 8,000 ga ll on water tanl~ 'Nill be <br />loaated in the South Area nea r the Compost Faail ity operat ions area . Water uses ina l ude <br />site construction and waste d isposa l operat ions , RRF operat ions, compost process water , <br />dust aontro l, equipment ma i ntenanoe operations, sanitary facilit ies , f i re f igh ti ng , and <br />emergency situatio ns. <br />5.3 Communications Facilities <br />Describe c omml:.H7ieations faeil#ies a vai/able to facility per soRRel. <br />AT&T-The telecommunications provider deliversprovides telephone service to the site. The <br />site offices and key site personnel havevehicles used fo r site operat ions are equipped with <br />phones. The site has five telephone lines for betR-business and emergency use (14 GGR , <br />Section 1 7867 (a )(9)}. In addition. each employee is assigned a cell phone with T1wo -way <br />radio s capability for emergency and work communication. and ce ll phones are a lso prov ided <br />to personnel. <br />5.4 Lighting <br /># operatioRs are to be CORductefi at Right, describe pro.'isions lor providing the fa cility <br />aRd/or equ/pmeRt with adequate /ight/Rg as approved by the L€.4 to ORsure saleO$ to permit <br />mORltoringeffeoti~'ORees ofoleDRingoperatloRS, aRd forinspeotioR ol/oaded vehicles. <br />PG&E provides the primary electric service to the site. Electric al power is provided to the <br />office trailers and on :-site pumping facilities. There is also nN ightjsecurity lighting is also <br />located at the landfill and RRFjCompost Facility entrances,! and on the RRF bui lding. <br />The landfill has four portable trailer-mounted generators, in case of an emergency and/or <br />the need for night lighting. In addition, the landf ill uses portab le lights for operations after <br />darl~ (Le., i n the winter). This lighting faces downward and to the west so as not to interfere <br />with airport landing and take-off operations. <br />Compost ing operations will not be conducted at night. <br />5.5 Fire Fighting Eguipment <br />Deseribe pro~lisions for eRsuring that laoility per soRRel ha ~'O proper!}' mafAtaiRed liFOfi.gI7ting <br />equipmeRt available at aN timee fA su#iciORt quaRtities aRd located as required by the Ioeal <br />fire Forward, IRC. DRd L&4 . <br />In addition to temperature monitoring of windrows, Forward has a number of site and <br />personnel fire prevention, protection and control measures in place as detailed in their <br />Contingency Plan.
