'.' <br />(PUBLIC SERVICES AND UTILITIES) <br />(14) 78 (1.1) <br />Proposed as Part of the Project: <br />The landfill will have a perimeter barrier or topographic constraints designed to discourage <br />unauthorized entry by persons or vehicles. <br />The entrance to the site will have a lockable gate, which will be locked outside of the usu'al <br />operating hours. ' <br />(CULTURAL RESOURCES) <br />(15) 82 (J.1) <br />Proposed as Part of the Project: <br />If prehistoric archaeological resources are discovered during excavation and construction of <br />the proposed project. the project sponsor will suspend all work in the immediate vicinity of the <br />find pending site investigation by a qualified archaeologist or cultural resources consultant to <br />assess the materials and detennine their significance. If the qualified archaeologist <br />detennines that the find is an important archaeological resource, the project sponsor will <br />provide funding and time to allow recovering an archaeological sample or to implement <br />avoidance measures. Work could continue at other locations while archaeological mitigation <br />takes place. <br />The project sponsor will allow only a qualified archaeologist or cultural resource consultant to <br />collect any prehistoric cultural resources discovered on the site, <br />If prehistoric archaeological deposits that include human remains are discovered by the ' <br />project sponsor or any construction contractors during development of the project sne,the <br />project sponsor will notify the Co~nty Coroner immediately, If the (emains are found to be <br />Native American, the Native American Hernage Commission will be notified with 24 hours. <br />The most likely descendant of the deceased Native American will be notified and given the <br />chance to make recommendations for the remains. If no recommendations are made within <br />24 hours, remains may be reinterred elsewhere on the property. If recommendations are <br />made and not accepted, the Native American Heritage Commission will mediate the issue. <br />If avoidance of important prehistoric archaeological resources is not feasible, the project <br />sponsor will prepare an excavation plan in coordination with a qualified archaeologist or <br />cultural resources consultant. The resources will not be disturbed until this plan is completed. <br />An excavation plan will consist of the methodical excavation of those portions of the slte(s) , <br />that would be adversely affected. The work will be accomplished within the context of a <br />detailed research design an.O in accordance with current professional standards.
