' Identified in EIR: Rodenticides and methods of application used at the landfill shall be reviewed by a qualified biologist to detennine if they reflect the most effective and safe methods for controlling rodents, That biologist shall make recommendations for improvement if needed. q. 78 (1.1) Proposed as Part ofthe Project: The landfill supervisor will be responsible for providing overall site security during nonnal working hours. All areas and facilities, other than those expressly designated for use by haulers, will be considered restricted areas. Areas within the site where hazardous or suspected hazardous materials are stored will be properly identified and secured. Salvaging and scavenging will be prohibited at the landfill, except for authorized materials recovery programs. r. 80 (1.3) Proposed as Part of the Project: The project sponsor will continue to apply, to the entire conSOlidated landfill, the safety procedures currently employed at the existing Forward Landfill and described in the Workplace Injury and Illness Prevention Plan. The project sponsor will fumish Infonnation regarding proposed disposal operations and safety procedures at the Austin Road Landfill, and the proposed consolidated landfill, to the Lathrop -Manteca Rre District. Monthly inspections of aD facilities for safety will be conducted In accordance with the Safety Checklist prepared by the National Solid Waste Management ASSOCiation (NSWMA) or other checklist of equivalent scope and detail. Safety meetings with employees will be conducted to disseminate safety infonnation, In accordance with procedures described in the JTD. Personal protective gear will be provided for the safe handling of solid waste, as described in the JTD. s. 86 (K.5) Proposed as Part of the Project: Refuse will be compacted and covered as soon as possible after deposition to reduce amounts of blowing litter.
