Environmental Review Committee May 12th, 1975 «
Why compound the error. Lets learn by theirs, not repeat itl Again, "what about water
polution? Why isn't there anything listed regarding this other problem.
#5. There is no mention that there are wells to the North now yielding
sand, and what additional problems the present residents will incurr if this is approv-
ed. There also is no mention made as to how they plan to eliminate the present water
shortage and what we are to do between now and the year 2000 A.D. or later:- NO WATER
HOW LONG WILL PRESENT SUPPLY LAST-WILL THE REST OF US HAVE TO DRILL NEW WELLS TO OBTAIN
WATER, IF WE DO, WILL THERE BE WATER-HOW FAR DOWN?
PAGE 30, D-2 : "Eventual sewer collector". When will sewer collection be installed?
PAGE 31, #8. "Wind pressure machine". Really, does this make sense to you?
PAGE 32, #12. Totally incorrect, again attempts to imply "PARADISE".
PAGE 32, E. Are we to bear the burden of turning our country atmosphere into another
tract subdivision, to allow one man to realize a "profit".
There is no mention here that most present property owners bough as an investment
likewise. We will sustain not only economic but environmental loss if approved.
i.e. Herd of kids introduced into neighborhood, increase in crowding, crime,
etc. , loss of aesthetic value, deprivation of rural atmosphere.
Somev&re in the report it states "if approved it will open up additional develop-
ment in the area". But it doesn't indicate what the ultimate results to our neighbor-
hood would be. We look back on certain areas, once country like us, now known to
Stockton as Colonial West, Lincoln Village West, Stonehaven, Franciscan Plazer, Stone-
wood, Davis Road all of these and more were once rich farm and ranch lands--now a mass
of congested residences thrown in one on top of the other.
We don't want this to happen to us. We'd like to see some mention of the possibility.
of this horrifying event happening to us. We want to retain our animals, livestock and
open spaces.
PAGE 34, SEE-"YET SOME LAND LEFT". This is setting a precedent contra to general plan.
Both tables pertaining to water table were not legible.
We speak not only for us but a substantial number of neighbors.
Very truly yours,
• r
1
• r
—28— MR. & MRS.
