In accordance with a previous request from the Environmental Health
Division, PVC pipes with caps were monitored for methane at four locations. The pipes are open
at the bottom, and are approximately 2.5 feet deep.
The County used a Landtec GEM 500 Gas Extraction Monitor to perform the monitoring. The
instrument was calibrated by County staff prior to monitoring. Results from the Third Quarter
2001 Monitoring Event are shown on the attached map with readings for all probes and structures
shown adjacent to their locations.
If you have any questions, please contact me at extension 8-3066.
NZ:mr
N:\Najee\Fh\Gas\3rd2001.wpd
Attachment
c: Gino Yekta, California Integrated Waste Management Board
LA 31209
