1 A3 SUBMITTALS <br /> A. Submittals Required After Contract Award and Prior to Construction <br /> 1. Catalog data for monitoring well screens (to include the screen slot <br /> size), casing,riser pipe,filter pack material,bentonite, cement, <br /> centralizers, surface protective covers, well vaults, locking caps, <br /> airline oil filters for pneumatic drilling,dedicated sampling <br /> equipment, and chemical specifications on drill lubricants and <br /> tracers, if used. Catalog data shall include any information, written <br /> or otherwise, supplied by the manufacturers or suppliers of the <br /> above listed items. <br /> 2. A copy of all permits, licenses,or other requirements necessary for <br /> execution of the work. Drilling permits will be required from the <br /> Environmental Health Department per Section 11. <br /> 3. Filter pack material test results; sieve and chemical analyses. <br /> 1.04 DELIVERY, STORAGE,AND HANDLING <br /> Monitoring well materials shall be stored and maintained in a clean, uncontaminated <br /> condition throughout the course of the project. <br /> PART 2 PRODUCTS <br /> 2.01 WELL CASING <br /> A. Monitoring well casing/riser pipe, shall be new, 2-inch nominal internal <br /> diameter, schedule 40 flush joint threaded ASTM D 1785 polyvinyl <br /> chloride (PVC)pipe. Required fittings shall be ASTM F 480 flush thread <br /> male by female fittings. Pop rivets, or screws shall not be used. A PVC <br /> cap, that threads or slips onto the top of the well casing shall be provided. <br /> 2.02 CENTRALIZERS <br /> A. Stainless steel centralizers shall be attached to the well casing when <br /> monitoring wells are over 20 feet in length. Centralizers will not be <br /> required if the monitoring wells are installed through hollow-stem augers. <br /> 2.03 WELL SCREEN <br /> A. Monitoring well screens shall consist of new commercially fabricated <br /> flush joint threaded 2 inch nominal internal diameter polyvinyl chloride <br /> (PVC) schedule 40 with 0.020 inch machined slots. Required fittings shall <br /> be ASTM F 480 flush thread male by female fittings.
