The request
to increase waste quantities and to remove recyclable materials from
the waste stream at the Foothill facility is required to reduce waste
diverted from the to -be -closed Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill.
The attached draft project description and vicinity map are for your
review and comment. It is proposed that a mitigated negative
declaration will satisfy compliance with the California Environmental
Quality Act. An initial study, mitigation measures and proposed
negative declaration are concurrently being prepared for publication
and circulation in mid-January 1995.
Responsible agency input and mitigation measures are being sought to
aid proponent environmental document preparation. Time is of the
essence. Your input is needed now and appreciated.
Please fax your concerns, proposed mitigations or comments to me at
(209) 468-2999 or send an agency representative to a pre -publication
agency California Environmental Quality Act scoping session on
Wednesday, January 4, 1995, at 9:00 a.m., in Conference Room "A" at
the Department of Public Works, 1810 East Hazelton Avenue, Stockton,
California, (209) 468-3073.
Very truly yours,
r
a
NNETH A.
